Be brilliant, play clever, and pickup craps the ideal way!

Games that use dice and the dice themselves date back to the Crusades, but modern craps is approximately 100 years old. Current craps formed from the old English game called Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the birth of the game, although Hazard is said to have been discovered by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s believed that Sir William’s horsemen played Hazard during a siege on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was acquired from the fortification’s name.

Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Acadia. In the 18th century, when driven away by the British, the French headed down south and located safety in southern Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they took their favored game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns modernized the game and made it more mathematically fair. It’s said that the Cajuns changed the name to craps, which is acquired from the term for the bad luck toss of snake-eyes in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game migrated to the Mississippi scows and across the country. Most think the dice maker John H. Winn as the founder of modern craps. In 1907, Winn built the modern craps layout. He put in place the Don’t Pass line so players could bet on the dice to lose. Later, he created the boxes for Place bets and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
